A layout designed for children to operate.  It is built in 4 tiers (hence the name), with 7 tracks in four scales (N x2, TT120 x 2, H0 x1 and 00 x2) running trains from 3 countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each track has an independent controller and can be run by a different child.  There is an 8th<\/sup> controller for the sound system.  There are no points and the trains only run in one direction to minimise accidents.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed both to give children at shows something to play with, as well as an appreciation of the common scales and gauges available for model railway layouts, it has deliberately used proprietary buildings and structures from Hornby, Superquick and Metcalf (among others) to give a sense of being the sort of layout that might be possible to create at home.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Size of layout: 3m x 1.4m plus needs at least a metre clearance all round for the operators (controllers are places all round the layout) and a table for rolling stock.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Total space required: 5 x 3.5metres plus stock table<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Power Requirements:  x2 13amp sockets (extension cable with double socket can be provided)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operators: Minimum 4 but 6 is better and essential at 2 day events.\u00a0 The same operators can supervise some other of our children\u2019s layouts [LINK TO CHILDREN\u2019S LAYOUT PAGE<\/a>]Transport: For local events this can be fitted into three or four cars, but a van hire is needed to travel further afield.
